The Problem of Local Education in "Crazy Awesome Teachers"

Honestly, sorry not sorry, the half of this film "Guru-Guru Gokil" (2020) is boring. I recommend you to read this badass review from Arya in his web My Dirt Sheet. All of my thought already he had written. 

But, this my own opinion...

The opening from this film can't make you feel interested in what the next happens. And the pictures were so leaden, make you feel moody at the same time. But there are many things that I thought it was good. I love the way when Taat Pribadi (Gading Marten) as a flawed character made his magic with his fingers, then it was showed to Rahayu Paramitha (Faradina Mufti). And the moment between dad, Purnama (Arswendi Nasution), with his son, Taat. It was making me cried. Ha-ha, maudlin.

Also the moralistic message like when someone has got a pension, he/she must plant a tree at the school, the place where they devote themselves. But for me, all of the teachers in this film are not crazy, but strange. Nirmala (Dian Sastrowardoyo) one of them, as the chemistry teacher, she has an odd habit. And in the red line, not education that makes them united, but a criminal moment (when the money of school had been stolen). And how they cooperated together to fight the thug.

But, in this film, you will see the culture of the agrarian society. The rice field stretched, also a domestic issue in local education which minus of teacher, the minus salary, the bad quality of teachers, corruption in local education, etc. Also the story about a teenager in high school, such as the story of Ipang (Kevin Ardilova) and Shaulina (Shakira Jasmine). 

Also the money in education. Hm, it is conflictual issue.  From the top to the bellow. From the head of school until the teacher who vends stuff at the school.

Unfortunately, I can say this film is not made totally--and the ending so cheesy, right, no debate. All of source I think is good, from actors, the place, etc, but the whole package is half-hearted. And if I sit in the field right now, as Rahayu said, I will shout loudly: boseeeennnnn!!! Pengen tidur!!! Pengen main!!!
