50th of Arena

A space can reveal who you are. I will tell you about a place that influenced me so much, and its impact continues until now, and it is Arena, a student press agency (Lembaga Pers Mahasiswa Arena). On this day, Arena gets its birthday of 50th. We call it as a silver anniversary. 

When I registered at Arena eleven years ago, I was hesistant to stay for a long time here. The reason was about personal issues, I couldn't easily get along with people, and I did not feel confidence in myself, and my skill. But, from one place to another place, this was the best place I ever lived: for the people, the person, the ideology, the joke, the treatment... It is difficult to find a place like Arena again.

Belonging to Arena felt like, someone gave you strange food. At first time, you thought that this food was not delicious enough, but you were still eating it day by day, and in the end, you thank to this person because the food that was given to you was food that you needed a lot and weren't aware of. Arena is like a herb for innocence and ignorance.
