Tongue Picnic on "Aruna and Her Palate"

I never thought that the food will give you heaven in your face.  I learn this from the film "Aruna dan Lidahnya" (Aruna and Her Palate) (2018). You know, I lost my weekend seeing this nice film.  I watched this because, for almost four months, I have tried cooking every day. I learn how my tongue feeling.

Aruna (Dian Sastrowardoyo) and Bono (Nicholas Saputra) are friends, they are very like cooking anything. And they have their recipe and theory when cooking. For Aruna, if you are cooking in the right way, your food will be delicious. For Bono, btw, he is a chef in the restaurant, life is such as food. In one plate, you will find too many differences from sweet, bit, neutral, etc. But when it's fixed, it will be the perfect food.

The story begins when Aruna as a clerk in One World went to some areas, from Pamengkasan, Singkawang, until Pontianak. She is checking about the flu burung (bird flu) issue. She invites Bono to join. Then, her friend Nadezhda (Hannah Al Rasyid) joins too, also comes Farish (Oka Antara). Farish is Aruna's crush, Aruna's friend in prior worked.

I think that this film so relevant to be watched in this pandemic time. When Aruna and Bono had checked in the field and reality, bird flu just an issue by the government and the company corrupted the money.  Aruna had thought that she and Farish spread the restlessness in local society. They come to the hospitals too, checking this bird flu, but they found that the tools there are not used by nurses or doctors. The tools are useless, they are made by the government and company getting the money down.

The vaccine issue also emerges here. The vaccine fundamentally is for the poultry, not for humans. But there is manipulation so the vaccine has been given to the people. Aruna was feeling the manipulation, and it has been talked to Farish. But Farish then angry with her, he is in denial about what Aruna's found. Farish has felt afraid, because he has made affairs with his boss, Priya (Ayu Azhari). Aruna said that their project is "projek basa-basi" (chit-chat project).

Regardless, this film will give you a big question: what your opinion about the food? Are you feeling if the food such as the life (like Bono)? Or like Nadezhda who believed the food, if the food is universal. And for Aruna, the food will connect us, from the men who we are hate or love.  But for them, "The food is heaven in front of our eyes." Damn's right, some foods never turn the hand (beberapa masakan tidak pernah pindah tangan).

And, when do we have food? I need the new menu and finding the food real figure. To feel lorjuk in Pamekasan, pengkang in Ponianak, choi pan in Singkawang, rujak soto, etc. The food is tempting the stomach. With the person who loves. Honestly, I like this film. 

Yuuuk, kulineraaan, yang sama surganya dengan nglihat pemandangan, hahaha.
